Inauguration Day 2021

Words are failing me today. Words that can sum up my emotions, my thoughts, my hopes, and my fears for our land and its future generations. It shouldn’t be a shock to anyone here that I’m fiercely patriotic and love America. I think of what our beloved Ben Franklin and all of his cohorts wanted for this country and fear they would not recognize the nation we are today. Yet, still, I stand for our flag. I stand for justice. I stand for liberty. I stand for the hope of a better, brighter day for America. I also know that my hope can never be in man, but I stand secure with my hope in the hands of the kind and loving Creator who has led mankind to love the ideal of liberty for all and I trust that those who love liberty will continue to chase after it with passion and protect it with zeal.
