Inauguration Day 2021

Words are failing me today. Words that can sum up my emotions, my thoughts, my hopes, and my fears for our land and its future generations. It shouldnโt be a shock to anyone here that Iโm fiercely patriotic and love America. I think of what our beloved Ben Franklin and all of his cohorts wanted for this country and fear they would not recognize the nation we are today. Yet, still, I stand for our flag. I stand for justice. I stand for liberty. I stand for the hope of a better, brighter day for America. I also know that my hope can never be in man, but I stand secure with my hope in the hands of the kind and loving Creator who has led mankind to love the ideal of liberty for all and I trust that those who love liberty will continue to chase after it with passion and protect it with zeal.โ

The Love of Liberty
As we head into the weekend, may you be reminded of all the blessings in your life. Among them the blessing of living in a land where we the ideal that all men are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness still reigns in the hearts of those who love our land.โ

My son was reading about the Boston Boys in history this week and encountered the tale of some British soldiers who destroyed the play forts built by the boys and cracked the ice on the pond so that they could not ice skate. The boys took their problems straight to the General over these soldiers who promised to keep the soldiers from bothering the boys any longer. After the boys left, the General commented to one of his officers, โ
