Who is the Heritage Letter for?
Anyone can benefit from the Heritage Letter: history enthusiasts, families, homeschoolers of all ages, school classes, or homeschool co-ops.
Do you mail internationally?
YES! We we include US postage to all US domestic mail addresses in the cost of the subscription For international mailings we simply charge the difference between the cost of international and US mail postage.
Is the signature on each letter authentic?
Yes! When available we use copies of the historic person's authentic signature obtained via the National Archives or other credible sources to close our letters. The inclusion of authentic signatures is a large part of our rationale behind typing the letters versus hand writing them...we want the authentic signatures to stand out in our letters. (The only exception to this has been the Henry Hudson letter...unfortunately, no record of his signature was preserved)
How do you choose the people you feature?
We do our best to maintain a good mix of males and females, as well as highlight various ethnic groups within America's story to feature from month to month. We also attempt to go alongside some of the various commemorative months to decide which historic person we will feature in a given month.
Charter School Friendly! Secular or Religious?
Our letters are considered to be secular in nature, so they are a wonderful option for Charter Schools. While some of the heroes and heroines we feature led lives of tremendous faith, we do not emphasize that portion of their lives in our letters. We prefer to leave it up to each individual family to determine what, if any aspects, of a given person's religious views to emphasize.
